How could I ever leave my house?
Chances are your home was purchased at a time when your priorities were very different from what they are today. If you look at your house objectively, does it meet your current needs? Is there too much unused space, like a dining room you used twice a year? Are the maintenance and cost of repairs overwhelming at times? Do worry about how you would manage if there came a day you could no longer manage the stairs? If you find yourself answering yes to many of these questions, then Havenwood-Heritage Heights might hold the answers you are seeking. Havenwood-Heritage Heights is specifically designed to accommodate your active retirement lifestyle, while at the same time provide you with the peace of mind we all long for by anticipating your future needs.

If I decide that Havenwood-Heritage Heights is right for me, do I have to move right away?
Havenwood-Heritage Heights has a wait list we’d be happy to add your name to. We will be happy to work with you and keep you abreast of the different accommodations that become available. We want your move to be as comfortable as possible and suggest that you learn as much as you can about Havenwood-Heritage Heights during this period of time and then ask yourself “Exactly what is it I’m not ready for?”

How can I possibly downsize to a cottage or apartment?
There is a saying that the majority of the people derive 80% of their meaning and enjoyment out of 20% of their possessions. We encourage you to talk with your future neighbors and friends and you’ll be amazed at how comfortable people are and how much can be done with limited space. At Havenwood-Heritage Heights your living space expands far beyond your living room, and includes many common areas and amenities that help to make life very pleasurable.

I love to garden. Do you allow gardening outside homes?
Yes. You are welcome to bring your individual spirit to the “outdoor” walls of your home for a personal garden. Many enhance their home’s garden bed with colorful annual flowers and perennial plantings. Some have flowerpots on their porch or patio area. Others have window boxes. We welcome harmonious plantings to our natural woodlands and landscaping. Gardening guidelines allow a lot of flexibility and individuality.

Could I afford to live at Havenwood-Heritage Heights?
We are very proud of our reputation for being an affordable continuing care retirement community and have been recognized in a nationally known magazine as one of the top retirement communities in the northeast. Your monthly service fee includes electricity, heat, and hot water and there are no longer any property taxes to pay. We are a “fee for service” community meaning only those who desire extra services pay for them. Our well trained staff will be happy to work directly with you to see how Havenwood-Heritage Heights might fit into your budget.

I like to walk and do other exercise type activities. What do you have for me?
You’ll love that our campuses are flat and great for walking. If you are interested in strength and aerobic equipment, we have fully equipped fitness centers on both campuses with Keiser air-pneumatic machines and NuStep Aerobic machines. Don’t worry, they are easy to use and we’ll train you. Is a group exercise or aerobic class more your style? We have those too, in addition to Tai Chi and Yoga and a recreational exercise pool.

I don’t want to give up any of my independence or freedom.
Havenwood-Heritage Heights is designed to help you retain your independence and freedom for as long as possible. Our goal is to simplify and enrich your life on many levels. There are a variety of programs and events always available if you so choose. Our friendly staff is here to serve and promptly assist you, helping to make your life as stress free as possible and allowing you to focus on the things that matter to you.

What happens if my health needs change?
The continuum of care offers you a wide array of quality health care options ranging from home healthcare to assisted living and short and long-term nursing care. Havenwood-Heritage Heights’ centralized admission process allows and encourages residents to move freely throughout the continuum of care as their medical needs dictate. On staff we have top-quality, well-trained, medical, social workers, and spiritual professionals who will assist you with your needs and guide through the system.
