 Dear Friends, We have been in a same-gender relationship for almost 30 years and yet Havenwood-Heritage Heights is the first community we've lived in where we could truly be ourselves and not play a role. This is a safe comfortable place to live out our remaining years - we have a peaceful life and nothing threatens our security. When we were initially searching for a retirement community, this comfortable, relaxed setting, among garden-style cottages, reached out and drew us in. The philosophy of diversity and the acceptance of same-gender couples were immediately apparent as we talked to residents and staff alike. We have been here over six years and have found not only the environment we were seeking in a continuing care community, but we were amazed to discover the open and accepting nature of Havenwood-Heritage Heights. Over the years we have become involved in a wide variety of committees and volunteer activities. We especially enjoy the social gatherings with both Gay and straight residents who have become our extended family. Happy Hours have never seemed so happy! When Civil Unions became a New Hampshire law, it was a Havenwood-Heritage Heights chaplain who performed our ceremony in a beautiful public room here on campus. We were surrounded by our friends from this community who celebrated our union with a champagne toast. We look forward to meeting you and having you see for yourselves the delightfully warm and caring setting in which sexual orientation is never an issue. Here, you can be yourselves, you can be outrageous and you can meet the challenges of aging in a nurturing, caring community. Enclosed please find an invitation to the Champagne Breakfast.
